Our Staff

Brennon Ivey

Brennon started with Mercury Permits in 2003 and has helped to grow the company from a one-person business to a thriving consultancy. The Texas native is a Jack of All Trades now serving as Chief Executive Officer he makes sure the company is run in the most efficient way possible. Brennon’s favorite places to go in Austin include Mount Bonnell, El Dorado Cafe, and Mozart’s Coffee. He and Gigi, his terrier mix, enjoy going to Auditorium Shores dog park for the great views of downtown Austin.

David Steele

David joined the Mercury Permits Team in 2013 having been involved in the construction industry since 2006 doing everything from custom home estimating to deep foundation testing for skyscrapers and bridges across the globe. Now serving as President for Mercury Permits, he handles all aspects of the permitting process – from the proposal to securing the final permits along with managing day to day operations. His code analysis and consulting skills are integral to Mercury Permits’ services. David loves to spend time with his rescued Weimaraner/Pit Bull mix named Arwen who lost her home in Hurricane Harvey. Casa Colombia, The Grove, and Gourmands are his go-to Austin food spots. In his free time he enjoys taking the doggo to Lake Travis and the disc golf course, kayak fishing, as well as dabbling in fine woodworking, baking, cooking, and smoking fine meats from his home in Lago Vista.

Monica Rodriguez

Monica has been at Mercury Permits since 2007. As a Project Manager she handles preparing and submitting plans to the City of Austin and surrounding jurisdictions. Monica is an Austin native with three kids and a cute Boston Terrier named Zuko. When she’s not at work, she enjoys walking the Lady Bird Lake trail and hitting up her favorite taco spots around town.

Aaron Henderson III

Aaron started with Mercury Permits in 2018. Being taken under the wings of the team, Aaron quickly became a Project Manager after learning all aspects of the permitting process. Being born and raised in Mississippi, Aaron enjoys spending most of his time hunting and taking in the Texas scenery with his wife and German Shorthaired Pointer Ruger. If not out in nature then, he can be found under a car doing all things automotive. Torchy’s and East Side King are his favorite spots to eat.

Charles Clark

Charles joined the Mercury Permits team in 2021, after having spent the previous sixteen years in the construction document printing industry. He is learning all aspects of the permitting process, and how to successfully navigate the jurisdictional waters.

Charles is a San Antonio native, and spends his free time working as a sound engineer at the ABGB, brewing beer, doing graphic design for bands, cooking, practicing photography, and traveling. At his home in South Austin, Charles is surrounded by his wife and a menagerie of pets…an African grey parrot named Jarobie, a chonky cat named Dr Taco, a chihuahua mix named June, a pug named Roscoe (Uncle Puggeh), and a golden retriever named Tugboat. Together, they can often be spotted enjoying nature and exploring the Hill Country surrounding the Austin area.

Denise Reid

Denise founded Mercury Permits in 1996 after 25 years of being President she decided it was time to retire and passed the baton over to Brennon Ivey and David Steele to keep the company going for many more years.
