Plan Review and Permit Fees to the cities are based on either construction costs or square footage, depending on the individual city requirements. We require a separate check for city plan review fees, and upon approval of the permit, a check payable to the city for the permit fee.
Our fees are based on time and departments involved. Services are based on an hourly rate. Approximate estimates can be given based on each particular project.
Brennon started with Mercury Permits in 2003 and has helped to grow the company from a one-person business to a thriving consultancy. The Texas native is a Jack of All Trades at the office, but his primary role is as our trusty bookkeeper and offsite project manager.
Brennon’s favorite places to go in Austin include Mount Bonnell, El Dorado Cafe, and Mozart’s Coffee. He and Gigi, his terrier mix, enjoy going to Auditorium Shores dog park for the great views of downtown Austin.
Denise started Mercury Permits in 1996 after struggling to work through the City of Austin’s permitting processes on her own. After mastering the system with plenty of first-hand experience, she wanted to help others who were battling these layers of red tape. This desire has grown into a customer service-based business that’s been going strong for over 20 years and her team has done business in all corners of Texas.
When Denise isn’t at work, she loves kicking back with a cold Shiner Bock and going to local Mexican restaurants in East Austin. Her weekend hobby is to go on long-distance group bike rides, where she can exercise her tenacious nature in the fresh air. She has three kids and a backyard chicken coop at her Leander home.
Monica has been at Mercury Permits since 2007. She’s always on the go at City offices, doing the legwork to prepare plans for submission and review by government planners in Austin and surrounding jurisdictions. Monica is an Austin native with three kids and a cute Boston Terrier name Zuko. When she’s not at work, she enjoys walking the Lady Bird Lake trail and hitting up her favorite taco spots around town.
David joined the Mercury Permits Team in 2013 having been involved in the construction industry since 2006 doing everything from custom home estimating to deep foundation testing for skyscrapers and bridges across the globe. As a project manager, he handles all aspects of the permitting process – from the proposal to securing the final permits. His code analysis and consulting skills are integral to Mercury Permits’ operations. He also serves as the Network and IT Administrator for Mercury. David has a daughter he loves to spend time with, and a rescued Weimaraner/Pit Bull mix named Arwen who lost her home in Hurricane Harvey. Casa Colombia, Mozart’s, Torchy’s are his go-to food spots when he’s working downtown. In his free time he enjoys taking the doggo to Lake Travis and the disc golf course, as well as dabbling in fine woodworking, baking, cooking, and smoking fine meats from his home in Lago Vista.
