City of Austin Code Adoption & Implementation Update

Every few years, the City of Austin reviews, adopts, and implements new technical code changes across various disciplines. This year, several updates are pending, and the city has recently released an updated adoption and implementation schedule.

New Dates:

• Adoption Date: April 10, 2025
• Implementation Date: July 10, 2025

It’s important to note that projects submitted for review before the implementation date will adhere to the current codes, while those submitted after will be subject to the newly adopted codes.
